Becoming an AYSO 33 Coach

All new coaches must go through the following four steps in order to coach in our region.

Step 1: Register as a volunteer in the National AYSO database through www.ayso33.org.

1. There are two ways to start the volunteer registration process. One is to complete volunteer registration after e-signing your child's soccer registration form. You will be taken to the volunteer position selection screen. Go to step 2.

If you do not register as a volunteer while completing your child's registration, you can register at a later time by logging back in to your Blue Sombrero account. Please make sure you are on the new registration site (www.ayso33.org). Once you are logged in, you can either click the "Volunteer" button on the left or the "Volunteer Opportunities" button at the top of the page:

2. At the position selection screen, choose a role, then click continue at the bottom of the page, then click "Continue". You may choose multiple roles. (We always need more coaches and referees! Training is free!) 



3. Confirm you wish to volunteer for the role:

4. Complete the volunteer information form. Note that at the references section there are two references to complete. The first reference is a work reference. The second reference is a personal reference that is different than your work reference.

5. Proceed to the electronic signature page. You must check the "I agree to use an electronic signature" box and select the FIRST radio button as an adult, then type your name as your "signature":

Please bring 2 copies of your completed volunteer form along with a driver’s license or passport to your division coordinator, our CVPA or to your next training session.. You may print out a copy of the form by going to the "Volunteer" tab on the "My Account" page:

Step 2: Complete the online Safe Haven class (20-30 minutes).

• Please visit the Safe Haven portion of our Volunteer Registration page to take Safe Haven training.
• Please bring a copy of your AYSO Safe Haven Certificate to your next training session. Coaches will not receive credit at the end of the training class without verification that they are Safe Haven certified.
  
  

Step 3: If you are not yet trained, register for the coach certification training class(es) you plan to attend.

• They need to register for classes. Using their Blue Sombrero sign in information, go to "AYSOU.ORG" and log in. Click the tab for "LIVE SESSIONS" and click the "sessions" link next to the class the need to take. Click the box to register for the class. (Make sure to read the comments on the class by clicking on the class title)
  
  

Step 4: Attend your classes.

• Attend the class you signed up for. A record of your attendance will be entered into the AYSOU National database and you will be certified at the end of the class.
